Data Linguist with German, AGI Data Services The Alexa Data Services (ADS) organization supports voice synthesis and recognition capabilities for Alexa, Amazon’s cloud-based service powering Echo devices. As a Data Linguist, you will adapt to changes in conventions based on internal customer requests, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Your organizational skills will help prioritize projects in a dynamic environment, and your attention to detail will ensure high-quality deliverables. You will proactively resolve issues with data, contribute to process improvements, and support team members with your expertise. Key responsibilities include: Understanding labeling conventions and supporting global sites. Delivering high-quality data within deadlines. Working independently with minimal supervision. Handling diverse data analysis requests. Improving processes to reduce handling time. Investigating issues and implementing solutions. Mentoring team members and sharing quality insights. Basic qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, German, Computational Linguistics, or equivalent practical experience. Experience with phonemic transcription in IPA and/or X-SAMPA. Fluency in German (C1 level or equivalent). Proficiency in English. Preferred qualifications: Experience with command line tools. Knowledge of additional languages (e.g., French, Spanish). Experience with interaction data and data markup. Understanding of data processing trade-offs. Comfort working with diverse dialects and accents. Willingness to work with audio content using headsets. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Adherence to internal guidelines. Quick learner of technical concepts and tools.
