Job Title: Layout & Piping Materials & Piping Classes Engineer Description The Layout & Piping Materials & Piping Classes Engineer executes, according to safety and cost-effectiveness criteria, contractual requirements and international codes and standards, activities related to piping materials specification, purchasing requirements definition, and technical follow-up of material supply. Key Activities & Responsibilities Develops piping material specifications ("piping classes") based on fluid lists and process data sheets, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and international standards. This includes piping thickness calculation, rating curve checks, branch table definition, valve specifications, and preparing the project component catalogue using specialized software linked to a customized database. Prepares supply specifications and purchasing requirements for piping bulk, valves, and special components to facilitate procurement. Performs technical bid evaluations for relevant components, ensuring clear understanding of technical requirements by vendors. Supervises vendor document management related to piping and valves supply. Personal Attributes Master’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or a related technical field. Minimum 8 years of experience in piping materials. Material and metallurgical background with knowledge of material selection for piping in petrochemical, power, and oil & gas industries. Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Willingness to travel occasionally within Italy and abroad.
