Bookmark this Posting | Print Preview | Apply for this Job Position Details Position Title: Accessibility Specialist Position Number: 8102414 Job Category: University Staff Job Type: Full-Time FLSA Status: Exempt Campus: Rogers Park-Lake Shore Campus Department: STUDENT ACADEMIC SERVICES Location Code: STUDENT ACCESSIBILITY CENTER (02043G) Funding: No Duties and Responsibilities The Accessibility Specialist at WTC - LSC serves students with disabilities by facilitating access and accommodations related to academics, testing, housing, and meal plans. Responsibilities include: Direct Student Service: Evaluates disability documentation, reviews applications, prepares for interviews, and recommends accommodations in compliance with current laws and best practices. Maintains confidentiality and collaborates with students, faculty, and staff to ensure effective support. Coordinates communication with campus partners, facilitates workshops, and ensures accessible participation in campus events. Works with students with various disabilities, including sensory, mobility, medical, and mental health conditions, and re-evaluates accommodations as needed. Participates in university programs and committees, and supports services such as communication, notetaking, and assistive technology. Minimum Education and Work Experience Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years of related experience in services for students with disabilities. Qualifications Master’s degree preferred in relevant fields such as higher education, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, or social work. Knowledge of laws like ADA, Section 504, FERPA, and accommodations. Effective communication skills and ability to work holistically with students. Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and families, and promote Loyola’s Jesuit identity. Additional Information Proficiency with MS Office 365; familiarity with Symplicity Accommodate preferred. No supervisory responsibilities; no animal or patient contact. Physical demands are none; working conditions may include irregular hours.
