Platform Engineering Director – Cloud Infrastructure Location: Europe (Remote or Hybrid) | English-speaking environment Our client, a fast-growing and well-funded deep-tech leader in quantum software and AI, is seeking a Platform Engineering Director to lead their Cloud Infrastructure and MLOps operations. This is a senior leadership role, reporting directly to the CTO, with the opportunity to shape the company’s cloud strategy and help deliver cutting-edge AI and quantum computing solutions to enterprise clients worldwide. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, DevOps, and MLOps, with proven leadership experience managing high-performing platform teams. You’ll be responsible for building and scaling the infrastructure that powers mission-critical, high-computation workloads and SaaS product delivery on AWS and Azure. What You’ll Do Lead and grow a high-performing Platform Engineering team (10 engineers). Drive the buildout of scalable DevOps and MLOps infrastructure. Lead the transition towards SaaS product delivery for global enterprise clients. Oversee deployment and operations in AWS and Azure environments. Ensure infrastructure supports high computational loads for a 100 engineer organization. Collaborate with senior leadership to align cloud infrastructure with business goals. Champion automation, scalability, and operational excellence. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or related field (PhD is a plus). 5 years hands-on experience in software engineering and/or DevOps. 2 years leading platform or DevOps teams in a technology-driven company. Proven experience building and managing teams of 10 engineers . Deep expertise in AWS and Azure cloud environments. Strong experience deploying SaaS solutions, including Kubernetes-based deployments. Solid understanding of MLOps principles and practices. Excellent communication skills – able to explain complex concepts clearly and motivate teams. Track record of driving automation (Terraform or similar tools). Bonus Skills Database experience (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.). Experience designing and deploying infrastructure for machine learning and data analytics workloads. Why Join?
