Job Description

McLaughlin Research Corporation (MRC) is seeking Mechanical Technicians who will support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport RI. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) is the United States Navy's full-spectrum research, development, test and evaluation, engineering and fleet support center for submarines, autonomous underwater systems, and offensive and defensive weapons systems associated with undersea warfare. Responsibilites: • Work as part of a team tasked to assemble, install and operate complex mechanical components in support of operational, performance and qualification testing. • Assemble or install equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting • Perform simple or routine mechanical tasks or tests such as tensile or hardness tests • Operate and adjust simple test equipment • Gather and maintain specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc. • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. to shoulder or above shoulder height. Requirements: • Minimum 2 years’ experience assembling, operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems • High degree of mechanical aptitude • Familiarity with mechanical assembly drawings and parts lists • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office • High School Diploma or GED Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with CAT 3 Crane & Rigging McLaughlin Research Corporation offers a competitive benefit plan to employees and their eligible family members that includes health, dental, vision, life, and disability plans, paid holidays, accrued leave, accrued vacation, 401K, profit sharing, as well as, any other state or federally required benefits.
