Travel Nurse RN - Labor/Delivery - $2,601 per week in Silverdale, WA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights; Every Other Weekend (Friday/Saturday) Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP; prefer intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring Must-Have: Must have Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) experience. Must be comfortable attending deliveries independently and circulating in C-sections. Must be comfortable assisting with catching babies and transitioning them. Must have at least 2 years of experience; will consider candidates with 1 year of experience if they have previous travel experience. Description: The unit consists of a birthing center with a total of 34 beds, including 2 operating room suites for C-sections and 14 postpartum beds. On average, there are 150 to 180 births per month. The staff follows AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios, which are 1:2 for labor and delivery and 1:3-4 for couplets. RNs are required to titrate drips, including magnesium, Pitocin, and insulin. There is a surgical tech available on the unit 24/7, along with a patient care assistant for clerical duties on each shift. An OB/GYN hospitalist is in-house 24/7 to assist with triaging patients and managing emergent cases. There is also a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) on duty 24/7 in the nursery. An anesthesia provider is available on-site 24/7. Respiratory therapy equipment, including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP, is available and typically assigned to family birth. Electronic fetal monitoring is managed using a specific system. The unit allows block scheduling upon request. Weekend requirements entail working every other weekend, with rotations for holidays. Travel staff may float to the mother-baby and postpartum unit, but not to the NICU. Scrubs are provided, and lockers are available for staff use. The management is supportive, providing feedback focused on maintaining quality care. Travelers are expected to be adaptable to the unit's workflows, policies, and procedures. Cancellations can occur up to four shifts for a 13-week assignment.
