Job Description SGS INSPIRE is a data and information service that provides expertise in fuel quality, vehicle emissions, energy, and transportation. The team offers regular written and oral information and consultations to leading global companies in fuels and vehicle-related industries. The SGS INSPIRE Business Development Manager (BDM) is part of the global team of market analysts and researchers on energy and transportation across all regions. The BDM will lead efforts to expand the client base globally, maintain client relations, and support business growth. The BDM should follow global policies and corporate strategies related to fuels, transportation, and vehicle emissions, within the context of energy transition and climate change. Responsibilities include maintaining current client relations, supporting P&L monitoring, discovering new markets, developing marketing strategies, and maintaining a worldwide network of contacts. The BDM will work closely with the project business manager, team members, and SGS colleagues. Responsibilities Stay informed about global policy developments in energy and transportation sectors, including fuels, hydrogen, renewable electricity, sustainable aviation fuels, alternative marine fuels, biobased fuels, and vehicles. Website and Marketing Manage communications and marketing strategies for INSPIRE / WWFS. Oversee the visual and narrative content of the website; regularly update and develop marketing content. Promote INSPIRE on LinkedIn and other external platforms. Keep promotional materials current. Organize podcasts and webinars for INSPIRE. Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly newsletters. Promote new INSPIRE products. Track relevant conferences and seek speaking/publishing opportunities. Represent and speak on behalf of INSPIRE at industry events. Customers and Sales Maintain relationships with current clients and respond to inquiries regarding proposals and contracts. Identify and explore new potential clients and markets. Expand the database of contacts worldwide in collaboration with regional analysts. Organize presentations for potential clients and SGS affiliates. Monitor tenders for consulting projects. Lead annual customer satisfaction surveys. Achieve sales targets for INSPIRE products. Build and maintain a global network of industry stakeholders. Monitor competitors' activities. Lead team meetings, document minutes, and follow up on actions. Strategy and P&L Prepare high-quality briefings and presentations for management. Assist with P&L monitoring and reporting. Replace the Business Manager when necessary. Perform other tasks as assigned. The role reports to the SGS INSPIRE Business Manager. Qualifications A master's degree in international relations, business, economics, or related fields. 5-10 years of relevant marketing and sales experience. Excellent command of English; additional UN languages are advantageous. Understanding of global energy transition processes. Willingness to understand global fuel markets and trade developments. Required Skills Strong organizational and project management skills. Independent, responsible, and detail-oriented. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills. Cultural sensitivity and ability to work under pressure. Knowledge of marketing and digital sales tools. Please send your CV in English.
