Housing Lawyer - Fully Remote Working Looking for more freedom and impact in your legal career? This sole Housing Lawyer role gives you just that. You’ll support two modern councils on a broad mix of housing work; from possession proceedings and antisocial behaviour cases to regeneration and right-to-buy. All fully remote, and with the autonomy to make the role your own. What’s On Offer Remote Working : Work fully remotely Annualised Hours : Full flexibility over how you work ⚖️ Autonomy : Design your own systems and processes Variety : From strategic housing projects to complex litigation Impact : Play a key role in affordable housing delivery LGPS Pension : Secure, defined benefit scheme Leave : 25 days (rising to 30) bank holidays Christmas shutdown Your Role • Advise on all aspects of housing law, including landlord/tenant issues and unlawful occupancy • Handle housing litigation such as evictions, disrepair, and land disputes. • Draft and review tenancy agreements, lease terms, and housing-related policies. • Ensure compliance with legal obligations, especially around affordable housing delivery. • Deliver training and guidance to housing officers and councillors. • Work in close collaboration with the housing team, becoming a trusted, embedded legal partner. What We’re Looking For ✔ A qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive ✔ Strong post-qualification experience in housing law, ideally within or for a local authority ✔ Skilled in litigation, negotiation, and drafting ✔ Confident working solo with a proactive, self-led approach ✔ Collaborative mindset and able to embed yourself into a client team About Us We are the shared legal service for South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils, delivering high-quality, solution-focused legal advice across a wide range of public sector work.
