Project Engineer- FPSO

Please note this position is based in Nigeria, Lagos- All VIsa Costs will be covered by the client. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Engineer with strong expertise in FPSO (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading) projects to join our Oil & Gas operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the engineering, planning, and execution of FPSO projects from concept through to delivery, ensuring technical integrity, safety, budget control, and timely project completion. This role requires advanced technical knowledge, project leadership capabilities, and the ability to coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams in a complex offshore environment. Key Responsibilities Lead the engineering and project management activities for FPSO projects, ensuring alignment with project scope, cost, quality, and schedule requirements. Oversee all phases of project execution including FEED (Front End Engineering Design), detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, integration, offshore installation, and commissioning. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders including clients, classification societies, shipyards, subcontractors, and vendors. Ensure compliance with international standards, regulatory requirements, and company procedures. Review and approve engineering deliverables, technical specifications, and design documents for FPSO topside and hull systems. Manage risk assessments, HAZID/HAZOP reviews, and ensure effective implementation of safety management practices. Monitor project performance, resolve engineering and technical challenges, and ensure cost optimization without compromising quality. Provide mentoring, guidance, and technical leadership to junior engineers and project team members. Prepare regular project status reports and present updates to senior management and clients. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Structural, Marine, or Petroleum Engineering (Master’s degree preferred). Professional Engineering (PE) or Chartered Engineer status advantageous. 8–12 years of proven engineering experience within the Oil & Gas sector, with at least 5 years in FPSO projects . Strong understanding of offshore facilities design, topsides processing systems, subsea tie-backs, mooring, and hull structures. Solid experience in project execution from FEED through EPCIC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, and Commissioning). Familiarity with relevant international codes, standards, and classification requirements (API, ASME, ABS, DNV, ISO). Skills and Competencies Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent leadership and team coordination abilities. High level of technical knowledge in FPSO systems and offshore engineering. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement. Ability to work in high-pressure environments, offshore settings, and multicultural teams.
