Clearing Controller

A prominent global trading and logistics company is seeking an experienced Logistics Clearing Controller to join their dynamic Clearing Department in Durban . This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and technically skilled professional who thrives in high-pressure environments and has a solid understanding of customs processes, regulatory compliance, and international logistics operations. Duties & Responsibilities Frame and process all Import/Export Bills of Entry across national ports Liaise with Traders, Shipping & Logistics teams to obtain accurate shipment documentation Coordinate customs clearances and cargo discharge reporting across multiple ports Prepare supplier invoices in FUSION and manage deferment payment processes to SARS Handle regulatory submissions to Agriculture, Port Health, SABS, and related authorities Maintain up-to-date compliance with permits, tariff books, and customs legislation Facilitate exports and reverse-logistics entries for outbound cargo Raise all month-end invoices and assist with vessel accounts as required Minimum Requirements At least 35 years of experience in customs clearing & forwarding Relevant supporting qualification Strong understanding of SARS, ACS, and customs permit systems Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and FUSION (or similar ERP system) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Analytical mindset and ability to manage high-value transactions High attention to detail and ability to work overtime when required Ready to take the lead in a global logistics environment?
