We are now looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 8:00am 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. What Youll Be Doing As a Commissioning Engineer, youll take the lead in delivering fire safety systems that protect lives and critical infrastructure across the UK. From initial concept to final handover, youll oversee the commissioning of fire detection and suppression systems in complex environments, including waste recycling, manufacturing and power generation. You will improve and enhance our internal team and processes while ensuring clients start on the best possible path forward with their new system. Youll utilise technical expertise and leadership capabilities to manage installations, conduct in-depth system testing and verification, and ensure compliance through collaboration with clients, subcontractors and engineers along with assisting with small works and remedials, including auditing and scoping requirements to provide a technical brief back to other internal teams for recommendations and quoting. Additionally, you will: - Audit site works to uphold high-quality and Health & Safety standards - Deliver training from our in-house facility and mentor engineering teams - Provide technical support across projects and conduct client handovers - Audit current client sites and scope new possible work from a technical point of view - Manage snagging, warranty and defect issues professionally - Maintain clear, consistent communication with all project stakeholders What Were Looking For To be considered as our Commissioning Engineer, you will need: - At least five years experience commissioning addressable fire alarm systems and controls - A proven track record in fire safety or related electrical/control systems industry - A strong understanding of fire safety regulations and compliance requirements - A relevant Certification and Training, for instance, FIA, NICEIC, CITB, SMSTS, and IPAF - Expertise in fire detection and suppression system technologies - Proficiency with control systems and programming - Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities - IT proficiency with the ability to use commissioning software and documentation systems - Desirable skills and experience in CCTV systems design, installation and troubleshooting Other organisations may call this role : Fire Systems Commissioning Engineer, Fire Protection Engineer, Lead Fire Systems Engineer, Fire and Security Commissioning Engineer, Fire Detection Systems Engineer, Installation and Commissioning Engineer, Fire Alarm Project and Commissioning Engineer, or Senior Fire Safety Engineer.
