Pensions NQ Solicitor
Job Location
City of London, United Kingdom
Job Description
I am working alongside a top tier law firm who are seeking a talented and motivated Newly Qualified Solicitor to join their award-winning Pensions team in their London office. The successful candidate will work with both trustee and employer clients, delivering legal solutions across the spectrum of pensions advisory work, contentious matters, and investment issues. The Team: Their market-leading Pensions team is recognised for delivering clear, practical advice on some of the most complex and high-value pensions matters in the UK. Operating across their offices, the team supports an enviable client base, including trustees, employers, and public bodies. The firm is ranked in the top tiers by Legal 500 and Chambers for pensions law. They are known for their collaborative and collegiate culture, strong training and mentoring ethos, and for handling innovative work across sectors including energy, transport, retail, and financial services. They pride themselves on their partner-led approach, working on both advisory and contentious pensions matters including regulatory investigations, scheme funding, corporate transactions, and risk mitigation strategies. The Role: Advise trustees, corporates, and public sector clients on a full range of pensions issues, including scheme governance, regulatory compliance, de-risking, and pensions disputes. Work closely with their corporate, employment, and disputes teams on cross-practice matters including transactions, restructurings, and insolvency-related pensions issues. Have early exposure to client contact, responsibility, and complex, high-profile matters. Join a supportive environment that invests in long-term development, technical training, and sector expertise. Be encouraged to contribute to business development initiatives and thought leadership activities. The Candidate: Newly qualified solicitor (0–1 PQE), with a completed seat in pensions or a strong interest in pensions law demonstrated during training. Excellent legal and analytical skills, with the ability to provide clear, commercial advice. Strong academic background (2:1 or above preferred) and a commitment to ongoing learning. A team player who thrives in a collaborative, client-focused environment. A proactive attitude, with the drive to build trusted client relationships and contribute to the team’s continued success.
