Technical Sales and Engineering Manager

An industry leader in the mechanized irrigation sector which is based in the NORTH WEST PROVINCE and within the Potchefstroom area, is recruiting for an experienced and skilled Technical Sales Manager Experience The successful incumbent must possess at least five (5) years experience as an engineer in a technical and sales role within irrigation and water hydraulics sector. Proven management within these fields will be advantageous. Experience with Global Mapper, Modelmaker/Irrimaker and Excel will be advantageous Formal qualifications A B.Engineering (B.Eng) degree in Mechanical engineering A qualification within sales and marketing will be advantageous Holder of a Project Management Certificate Valid driving license code 08 Own transport A valid medical certificate certifying the incumbents fitness status to work Experience within the agricultural sector will be advantageous Familiarity with CRM tools and sales tracking systems Responsibilities Working closely with the different departments to establish a department budget Encourage sales through marketing campaigns and address customer complaints Have regular meetings with sales and technical team members to review monthly goals, and cultivate sales pitches Understanding customer needs Present technical solutions based on customer needs Managing client relationships Collaborating with engineering teams Ensuring technical feasibility of the proposed solutions Collaborate with the product development team to understand the product features and benefits Participate in shows, conferences and client meetings to promote products and services Legislative Requirements Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 Managerial Instructions Procedures Standards Inherent requirements for the position Excellent communication and reporting skills Excellent decision-making A strong commitment towards the customer and completion of the projects Good problem-solving skills Reliable and dependable Ability to work independently Ability to delegate tasks to subordinates Attention to detail Analytical and logical Achievement driven Accuracy Assertive and stress handling and coping capability Mechanical ability Commercial awareness Computer skills Planning and organisational skills Compliance and detail oriented Ensuring a once-off repair with no come-backs Ensuring customer satisfaction Ability to travel extensively as and when needed Shortlisted candidates will be expected to undergo psychometric testing and background screening.
