Category Manager

Your new company Hays are working in partnership with a global leader in aerospace technology to recruit for a Category Manager - Composites Category. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation at the forefront of innovation and transformation within the industry. Your new role You will take ownership of the global outsourced spend for the Composites category, providing strategic leadership and direction. Your responsibilities will include developing robust commodity strategies, managing critical supplier relationships, and delivering significant cost savings. You'll play a key role in shaping Make vs Buy decisions, leading complex outsourcing projects, and driving ethical and sustainable sourcing practices. You'll also oversee supplier evaluations, tender processes, and long-term agreements, while continuously improving category performance. What you'll need to succeed Minimum 5 years' experience in strategic procurement or supply chain, ideally within aerospace or technology sectors At least 3 years' experience specifically in composites sourcing Strong knowledge of category supply markets Proven ability to manage strategic sourcing and supplier relationships Experience influencing senior stakeholders and leading transformation projects Degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, Strategy or a related field CIPS Advanced Practitioner or equivalent (preferred) Skilled negotiator with strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities Project and change management experience Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills Willingness to travel internationally as required What you'll get in return Competitive salary and benefits package Opportunities for career development and progression Exposure to global projects and senior leadership Supportive and collaborative working environment Chance to contribute to industry-leading innovation What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.
