No Offer Description The Department of Economics and Management (DSEA) at the University of Padua is seeking excellent candidates for a two-year post-doctoral position (Contratto di Ricerca) in the disciplines of Accounting, Banking, or Finance. This is a full-time, research-only position, funded through the ‘Dipartimento di Eccellenza’ project on ‘Evaluating Sustainability-related Activities’. The salary (approx. €33,600 gross per year) is comparable to similar contracts offered by other public European universities. The Italian taxation authority offers a generous tax break nearly offsetting taxation for individuals who were tax residents outside Italy during the previous two years. Please read more here . The contract does not guarantee automatic renewal, but a two-year extension can be negotiated depending on funding and performance. The approximate starting date is Q1 2026. Candidate Requirements The candidate must have obtained or will be awarded a PhD in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related fields by 31 March 2026. Applicants should meet the following: A research track record or potential to publish in leading international journals; The ability and willingness to pursue research and contribute to the department’s research profile through seminars and conferences; Willingness to seek external research funding and conduct impactful research connected to practice; Ability to participate actively in departmental development; Proficiency in English and ability to work well in a team. The department is particularly interested in applicants contributing to themes like Financial Reporting and Regulation, Management Accounting and Control, Banking and Corporate Finance, Governance, Accountability, and Social Responsibility. About the Department Founded in 1989, the Department of Economics and Management has over 2000 students, more than 80 full-time faculty, and over 30 post-docs.
