Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Junior Marine Technical Support Engineer Posting Date: 21 Mar 2025 City: Genova Location: Genova, IT, 16128 Contract Type: Permanent Division: Marine Compliance, Classification & Statutory Cert Level of experience: Intermediate RINA is currently recruiting for a Junior Marine Technical Support Engineer to join its office in Genova within the Marine Compliance, Classification & Statutory Certification Division. Mission The Junior Marine Technical Engineer at the RINA Technical Support Center will assist engineers in contributing to maintaining maritime safety, environmental standards, and regulatory compliance. Key Accountabilities Technical Support: Assists Engineers Colleagues in providing technical support to Marine Operational Network regarding compliance with classification rules, regulations and procedures, as well as general marine engineering and operational issues. Problem Resolution: Collaborate with senior engineers and Marine Operational Network to address technical issues, recommend solutions, and address any non-compliance or deficiencies identified during review of survey reports. Technical Performance Review: Assisting in the preparation of technical reports, statistical analysis, documentation, and presentations. Team Collaboration: Work as part of a team alongside senior engineers, naval architects, and other technical professionals to deliver high-quality technical support and classification services. Safety Awareness: Participate in the promotion of safety awareness and a culture of safe maritime operations, ensuring that all activities align with industry safety standards. Internal Training and Qualification Scheme: Management of surveyor's training and qualification process scheme. Supporting development and delivery of training material and activities (webinars, seminars, internal courses). Education Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Engineering or Engineering General High School Diploma/GED in Transport and Logistics Qualifications Basic Knowledge of marine systems, equipment, and technologies. Proficiency in English Language spoken and written. Proficiency in digital software (ex. Microsoft Office). Familiarity with maritime regulations and industry standards (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL, IMO regulations). Good analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct technical assessments and evaluations. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders. Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to ensuring accuracy and compliance. Experience as Deck or Engine Officer or experience as Technician in a Shipping Company (in case of High School Diploma/GED in Transport and Logistics).
