Candidate Requirements: South African citizen Valid drivers license (PdRP required; 4x4 and/or trailer driving skills are advantageous) Relevant conservation or nature qualification First Aid Level 1 Flexible and willing to work flexible hours Computer proficient with a good understanding of data management Good communication and people skills Basic financial management skills Experience with project management, community engagement, data analysis and GIS will be beneficial Key responsibilities: Field monitoring such as nest monitoring and camera trapping. Maintain, advise develop Vulture safe food provisioning. Assist with Vulture capture, tagging, ringing, and tracking unit deployment operations. Drive the setup and implementation of an Intentional Poisoning Mitigation Strategy to help combat KZN Vulture's biggest threat. Ad hoc endangered species emergency response. Implement and host Vulture Awareness and Poison Response workshops. Data collection, processing, & reporting. Contribute to research that informs conservation action. Ad hoc hosting of conservation volunteers, researchers and donors. Produce monthly relevant social media content. Support all Programme-related duties as and when needed. Upkeep of the allocated accommodation, vehicle, and equipment. Basic financial management of project expenses. This is a live-in position. The candidate will make use of the company 4x4.
