Fater is an Italian company, a 50/50 joint venture between Procter & Gamble and Angelini Industries. It manufactures and distributes fabric and home care cleaning products under the Ace and Neoblanc brands in 37 countries across Western, Central, and Eastern Europe. In Italy, since the 1960s, it has expanded the market for personal absorbent products, and today it manufactures and sells Pampers, Lines, Lines Specialist, and Tampax branded products for the Italian market. The challenge We are looking for a motivated Engineer to join our Engineering team within the Technology Innovation area, with a passion for and experience in industrial automation and digitalization, whether academic or professional. This is a great opportunity to grow within an innovative industrial environment, contributing to the development of new products and processes. As part of the Engineering team, you will work on innovation projects aimed at improving or developing new products, processes, and automation systems, as well as upgrading or implementing new industrial and intralogistics systems. You will operate within a multifunctional environment covering all engineering and product development capabilities, including field and laboratory testing and commissioning activities at our production sites. What you'll do Design and execute innovation projects related to production systems, including converting and packaging equipment, controls and automation, robotic cells, AGV fleets, etc. Develop predictive and prescriptive models and simulations supporting equipment design, quality, and process control system implementation. Continuously scout and study industrial innovations in hardware and software, leveraging production data analysis to identify opportunities for quality, process, and cost optimization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess project feasibility and oversee implementation (e.g., operations, supply chain, marketing). What you need to succeed Degree in Engineering (preferably in Automation, Robotics, Control Systems) or a scientific background (Mathematics, Physics, Data Science). Up to 4 years of experience in structured companies is preferred, but applications from students or recent graduates with limited experience are also welcome. Knowledge of automation systems, robotics, vision systems, and data science principles based on experience. Familiarity with programming, simulation, and modeling tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, PlantSimulation, ProcessSimulation, SolidEdge, CFD, FEM) is a plus. Strong analytical skills and a model-based approach, with attention to detail. Interest in a combination of design and field activities. Proficiency in Italian and English (written and spoken).
