The Housekeeping/Environmental Services Aide is responsible for duties within the Housekeeping and/or Laundry Departments, including but not limited to: Processing all facility linen and personal linen and clothing of residents. Preventing unnecessary waste, loss of time, and damage to residents' belongings. Maintaining cleanliness of assigned areas throughout the facility. Maintaining care of equipment and supplies. Cleaning and servicing areas such as baths, laboratories, educational facilities, corridors, utility rooms, and beds. Dusting and damp mopping floors, dusting furniture and equipment, cleaning windowsills, emptying wastebaskets, and arranging furniture and equipment neatly. Scouring and polishing fixtures like bathtubs, sinks, mirrors, and metal objects. Replenishing supplies of disinfectants, soaps, and towels. Keeping storage areas organized and supplies stocked. Cleaning and disinfecting beds, bedstands, utensils, sterilizers, and wheelchairs. Emptying wastebaskets, cleaning, and relining them. Vacuuming carpets, shampooing upholstered furniture, and dusting blinds. Removing drapery and cubical curtains when needed. Cleaning shower stalls, baths, water fountains, chute doors, fire extinguishers, and stationary ice containers. Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Experience working in housekeeping or laundry is preferred but not required. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to work well under pressure and harmoniously with all staff. Knowledge of housekeeping and laundry techniques. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
