After School Club Manager

Location: Caversham Hours: Monday to Friday, 2:55 PM 6:00 PM (Term Time Only) Contract: Part-Time, Permanent About the Role One of our long-standing childcare clients is currently recruiting for an After School Club Manager to lead a fun, friendly and engaging setting in Caversham, Reading (RG4) . This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership experience in childcare or playwork, who thrives in a hands-on environment and is passionate about creating enriching experiences for children. You'll take ownership of the day-to-day operations of the after school club, leading a small team, and ensuring the smooth, safe, and inspiring delivery of activities each afternoon. Youll be supported by an experienced Regional Manager and a Head Office Operations team. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the daily operations of the after school club Ensure a safe and secure 'sign-in and sign-out' process, working closely with school staff and parents Plan and deliver a variety of fun and stimulating activities aligned with playwork and childcare standards Manage and motivate a small team of staff, setting clear expectations and providing support Maintain awareness of children with additional needs and dietary requirements Purchase and prepare healthy snacks in line with food hygiene guidelines Ensure compliance with all safeguarding, health & safety, and organisational policies Complete daily risk assessments and other operational paperwork accurately Leave the setting clean and tidy at the end of each session What Were Looking For Minimum 2 years experience in a childcare or education leadership role (e.g. Room Leader, Nursery Assistant Manager, Teaching Assistant)A Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Playwork or equivalent is highly desirable but not essential Passionate, reliable and confident in engaging with children aged 411Excellent organisational and communication skills A hands-on leader who sets the tone for fun, safety, and inclusion Willingness to undertake training and grow with the role Whats on Offer Supportive team and structured onboarding Full training provided, with ongoing opportunities for professional development Discounted childcare Paid holiday entitlement Company pension scheme Access to an exclusive employee discount and perks portal Genuine career progression opportunities in a growing organisation Next Steps If youre looking for a part-time, term-time role where you can lead, inspire, and make a positive difference every day, wed love to hear from you.
