This Employer is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Sustainability Strategist Specialist to lead the development and implementation of impactful strategies that reduce environmental impact, promote eco-friendly technologies, and strengthen supply chain sustainability. You’ll work across departments, inspiring a culture of sustainability, embedding green practices in manufacturing and operations, and ensuring compliance with environmental legislation while exceeding stakeholder expectations. Key Responsibilities Design and roll out a comprehensive Sustainability Management System for the organisation and its subsidiaries. Integrate sustainability principles into product development, manufacturing, policies, and plant development strategies . Drive continuous improvement in resource efficiency , including generating revenue from waste streams. Identify and secure government incentive schemes to strengthen financial sustainability. Lead ESG and non-financial reporting with accuracy and transparency. Build and maintain strong relationships with government and industry stakeholders at regional, municipal, and national levels. Ensure full compliance with environmental legislation and manage reputational risk. Support data analysis and reporting processes to enhance sustainability performance. Champion awareness and behavioural change towards sustainable practices at all levels. Minimum Requirements National Diploma / BSc / BTech in Environmental Management/Sciences, Sustainability Management, or Engineering. 5–10 years ’ experience in the manufacturing sector. Minimum 3 years in a sustainability management or environmental leadership role in manufacturing, with a proven track record. Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office). Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Proven analytical skills and innovative problem-solving ability. Experience with ISO 14001 , ESG reporting, and large-scale sustainability project scoping (including funding solutions). Ability to influence national and regional policy and legislation . Desirable Knowledge of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) legislation . Experience in water and effluent treatment technologies . Postgraduate qualification in Business Management/Administration.
