Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Oncology Discipline: RN Start Date: 08/25/2025 Duration: 52 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days, nights Employment Type: Local Contract RN Oncology Weekend Requirement: 4-weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period Experience Requirements: 2 years of nursing experience, Oncology experience preferred. Patient Population: Med/Surg Oncology, Chemo, Postop surgery (breast, bladder, lung, colon, and crani), Cardiac drips, Palliative Care (end of life and hospice support) Patient Ratios: 1:4 for Chemo; 1:5 for Med/Tele Number of Beds: 20 beds Department Specifics: Active Unit Based Council, Pharmacist and Social Worker on the unit during the day to partner with nurses in patient care, Multidisciplinary Team that works together, Chemotherapy training is required within the first 90 days. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies. Qualifications Grad of an Accredited Program Specialized field of study should be nursing. RN license.
