Job Description
Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT-NICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of NICU and/or PICU experience required. License: Valid state license required. Certifications: BCLS, RRT Must-Have: Experience in NICU/PICU required. Description: This is a night shift position in Respiratory Care. Candidates must have at least 2 years of NICU and/or PICU experience. First-timers are accepted. Weekend work is required every other weekend. Certification in BCLS and RRT are required. No on-call duty is expected for this role. Candidates will not float beyond their scope to meet facility needs. Local candidates are accepted. Pending licenses may be accepted. Candidates must have experience with patient care in ED, level 1 trauma facility, NICU, pediatric critical care, and pediatrics. The facility is a children’s acute care hospital and a teaching hospital. It has a total of 400 staffed beds. Candidates will work with diverse patient age groups, including neonates, infants, children, and adolescents. Daily census averages around 320 patients. Standard skills required include ABG interpretation, aerosol setup, intubation assistance, and troubleshooting high pressure alarms. Additional skills include working with CPAP, BiPAP, high frequency oscillators, and nitric oxide therapies. The role requires proper knowledge in pediatric critical care practices. Candidates will have access to interdisciplinary support services, including interpretation and rapid response teams. Candidates are expected to adhere to compliance and policy requirements throughout their assignment. Submission of references is preferred. Candidates should be prepared to float within service lines as needed. Proper charting experience is a must, specifically with the required electronic medical records system. Applicants must meet all job requirements as specified in the description. This position requires commitment to high standards of patient care in a fast-paced environment. Compliance deadlines will be defined prior to the beginning of the assignment. The candidate must be willing to follow established policies regarding time off and scheduling requirements.
