HGV Class 1 Driver

Our company, Cotswold Talent Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client based in South Marston, Swindon for experienced Class 1 Drivers to join their growing team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all road safety regulations. This is a trunking role on PM/Night shifts. Shift start times from 13.00 pm - 22.00 pm NO HANDBALL INVOLVED - STRICTLY TRUNKING AND TRAILER SWAPS! Why Join Us? Weekly pay Supportive team and clear communication Excellent facilities and working conditions Pay rate: £18.50 per hour Option to earn £20.50 per hour with hourly holiday roll up scheme Rate not age dependant Permanent position after a successful trial period Duties Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, securing loads appropriately. Trunking and Trailer swaps Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Maintain accurate delivery logs and comply with all relevant regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays if needed Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving. Skills required Proven experience in commercial driving. Strong knowledge of logistics processes. Experience with Tail Lift Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Good organisational skills with attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting heavy items when necessary.
