We are currently seeking a Controls Engineer to join our KSS team in Poca, WV.
This position is open to candidates who are currently authorized to work in the United States. We are not able to provide work sponsorship or support relocation from outside the U.S. at this time.
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical systems, ensuring high-quality performance and reliability. This role requires collaboration with various teams and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The controls engineer will be responsible for electrical designing, responsibilities include-
- Design electrical systems, including layout drawings, schematics, cable and conduit plans, motor control center (MCC) specifications, and lighting designs
- Program and integrate PLCs (MicroLogix, CompactLogix, ControlLogix) and HMIs (RSView Studio)
- Set up, test, and troubleshoot control systems both in-house and at customer sites
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for installed systems—both remotely and on-site
- Collaborate with fellow engineers, project managers, sales teams, and panel fabricators
- Assist with equipment selection, cost estimating, and procurement
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and stay current with emerging technologies
- Travel domestically and internationally as required
- Perform additional duties as assigned by engineering leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Preferred experience in material handling systems or industrial weighing applications
- Strong problem-solving skills and a demonstrated eagerness to learn
- Solid foundation in electrical systems with practical troubleshooting experience
- Proficiency in creating electrical schematics using AutoCAD
Preference given to candidates with relevant experience; however, recent graduates with strong technical aptitude and initiative will be considered
Work Environment
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to physically perform repairs.
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Good vision to inspect repair work.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
