EHS Director

From Hays, we are looking for a Director HSE for a multinational pharmaceutical company located in Barcelona. This is a unique opportunity to join a global leader in the pharmaceutical industry and play a key role in shaping the company’s HSE strategy and business continuity framework across international operations. Key Responsibilities: Lead the global Business Continuity Management (BCM) program and represent the company in HSE matters with insurers and authorities. Develop and implement global standards for hazardous substances and industrial hygiene. Drive process and plant safety initiatives, including ATEX compliance and global HSE audits. Manage and standardize global HSE audits and ensure follow-up on findings. Oversee strategic HSE projects and ensure alignment with corporate goals. Provide dotted-line leadership to regional HSE managers. What We’re Looking For: Degree in engineering, environmental science, occupational safety, or similar (advanced degree is a plus). 10 years of global HSE leadership experience, ideally in the pharmaceutical sector. Strong expertise in process safety, BCM, KRITIS, and hazardous substance management. Proven leadership and project management skills across international teams. Excellent communication and intercultural skills. Fluent in English.
