Mechanical Superintendent

We are currently seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Superintendent to oversee and manage mechanical construction activities on a large-scale onshore Petrochemical/Oil & Gas project. The successful candidate will have strong leadership capabilities, a solid understanding of industry standards and codes, and the ability to manage direct labour and subcontractors to ensure safe and timely execution of all mechanical works. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate all mechanical construction activities on site. Manage and monitor performance of direct labour and subcontractors. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with project specifications, drawings, standards, codes, and applicable legislation. Interpret mechanical and structural drawings, weld symbols, and procedures accurately. Oversee welding activities including NDE requirements, weld mapping, and material traceability. Liaise closely with QA/QC, planning, and other engineering disciplines to ensure smooth project execution. Monitor project progress and ensure schedule adherence, reporting any deviations promptly. Ensure safety, quality, and environmental standards are upheld at all times. Maintain accurate and complete records of site activities. Requirements: Education: BSc in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Equivalent certifications may be considered depending on experience. Experience: 6 years of progressive experience in similar roles within the Petrochemical and Oil & Gas industries. Proven ability to lead teams and manage direct labour on large-scale industrial projects. Demonstrable understanding of mechanical construction practices and contractor management. Experience working on ASU (Air Separation Unit) plants is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of NDE, weld mapping, and material traceability. Proficient in reading and interpreting weld symbols, weld procedures, and technical drawings. Spanish Speaking required
