IT Infrastructure Engineer Location: Madrid, Hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 days remote) Contract: Initial 12-month contract with potential extensions Work Hours: Mon–Thurs: 09:00–18:30, Fri: 09:00–15:00 We are currently seeking an experienced Proximity Engineer for a long-term freelance engagement. This role is ideal for a highly skilled professional with 6–8 years of hands-on experience in backup solutions, patching and vulnerability management, virtualization, and automation. You'll be part of a critical technical function supporting enterprise-level infrastructure and tooling. Key Responsibilities & Technical Requirements You should have strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in: Backup solutions such as Druva, Commvault, Avamar, or similar. Patching and vulnerability systems at both technical and management levels (e.g. Altiris, SUSE Manager, SCCM, WSUS, Nessus, Tenable, Wiz). Virtualization technologies like Nutanix, VMware, VxRail, and exposure to AWS. Operating systems: Proficiency across Linux, UNIX, and Windows environments. Automation tools: Especially Ansible, as well as scripting/programming capabilities. Familiarity with shared data centre infrastructure, middleware, and database technologies is advantageous. Exposure to cloud technologies is highly desirable. Fluency in English (spoken and written) is essential.
