Technical Project Engineer (6 Months)

REQUIREMENT South African citizen, available immediately National Diploma/ Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electronics/ Mechatronics etc.) Minimum 5 years' experience in an automotive engineering environment, ideally product development Excellent knowledge of project management principles: managing cost, time, quality and content to ensure projects are approved and implemented Able to conduct technical presentations Valid drivers license Technical knowledge of vehicle components and architecture (part layout) Good understanding of Bill of Materials (vehicle components) RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate Product Engineering project team meetings, reviewing open tasks and deadlines as well as motivate and encourage technical project team members to support the achievement of tasks Collect and analyze data related to model-specific cost-saving technical changes and present a synopsis within the relevant forums for information/ decision-making purposes up to management level Monitor the vehicle development project budgets, plan the vehicle development project timing, and define the engineering and development scope Define technical requirements and changes of components, conduct competitor analysis studies and create technical product descriptions which meet market and quality product specifications Monitor the engineering release process, actively track technical releases from internal and external sources, ensure effective communication between the parties and that all required releases conform to production build level requirements and are implemented accordingly Exchange project status with Group counterparts for activities requiring development input, ensuring purposeful share of responsibilities and job split Represent product engineering in project discussions and presentations so as to define/ negotiate/ agree on engineering requirements and/or support/ advise on engineering matters Execute consistency checks on technical data in various engineering systems to ensure correctness
