Senior Financial Manager

Our client is seeking a Senior Financial Manager for their team in Gauteng, Johannesburg East. Location: JHB East Minimum Qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CA) Financial Accountant Certification Bachelors degree or equivalent (NQF Level 7) Own vehicle and valid drivers license SAGE Tax and IFRS/IAS rules Availability to work overtime during the month-end and the year-end Minimal Technical Experience: Excellent math skills with attention to detail Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as Accpac Solid knowledge of accounting regulations In-depth understanding of business bookkeeping procedures. Minimum Experience: 5 Years of Industry-related experience 7-10 Years proven work experience as a Financial Manager or similar role 7-10 Years in a management capacity in a finance department About: Ability to manage, mentor and guide staff to meet the Company's Strategic Objectives and meet Regulatory Requirements Ability to work independently Ability to work in a team and resolve conflicts Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Excellent time management skills. Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines/targets within a pressurised environment Attention to detail, analytical and investigative mind Positive & professional attitude Proactive planning ability Ability to ensure that the department performs according to Policies and Procedures and passes Operational / Health and Safety / Safety and Risk / Security Audits / Accounting Audits Ability to plan resources for month-end and day-to-day business requirements Ability to delegate effectively Ability to work overtime in accordance with month-end, year-end, audit & peak time requirements Main purpose of the Job: To maintain complete and proper records of revenue, expenditure, assets, and liabilities, to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information while maintaining clean audits. Leadership and Team Management Lead and mentor a focused finance team. Foster a high-performance culture with a focus on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Provide guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely execution of all financial processes. Financial Operations and Reporting Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with relevant standards. Ensure the integrity of the general ledger, cashbook, accounts payable, accounts receivable, Revenue, fixed assets, and reporting functions. Liaise with external and internal auditors and maintain strong internal controls, and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Thorough knowledge of IFRS standards, VAT, Income Tax, and transfer pricing. Financial Planning and Analysis Lead the annual budgeting process, including departmental coordination, consolidation, and variance analysis. Conduct detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. Prepare and present financial forecasts, scenario planning, and business performance reports to senior leadership. Cash Flow and Treasury Management Develop and maintain robust cash flow forecasting models to ensure liquidity and working capital optimisation. Monitor and maintain banking relationships and funding requirements Manager bank guarantees. Mergers and Acquisitions Support financial due diligence, valuation modelling, and integration planning for potential acquisitions or business combinations. Collaborate with legal, operational, and external advisors to assess financial risks and opportunities. Systems and Process Improvement Drive automation and process enhancements across financial systems and reporting tools.
