Service Engineer - Industrial Vacuum Equipment Flixborough, Scunthorpe | Full-time, Permanent | £40,000 (plus OT & Bonus) Come and join us at GWS Engineers Ltd the UKs leading manufacturer and hirer of large industrial vacuum equipment. Who we are: With over 50 years in the business, GWS Engineers Ltd is a well-established, family-owned company based on the Flixborough Industrial Estate in Scunthorpe. We manufacture and operate a large hire fleet of industrial vacuum equipment. Were known for the reliability, quality, and performance of our equipment, and that reputation depends on our engineering team. Thats where you come in. About the role: Were looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Service Engineer to take the lead in maintaining and managing our large hire fleet. This is a hands-on, varied role that comes with a high level of ownership and responsibility . Yes, theres plenty of hands-on, outdoor work, but youll be the key engineer making sure our equipment is always safe, reliable, and ready to go when our clients need it. Youll lead on servicing, diagnostics, and repairs, and play a crucial part in supporting clients and representing the company. What youll do: Servicing industrial vacuum equipment including diesel engines, electrical fault-finding, and mechanical repairs Liaising with the Hire Controller to ensure that clients get the right equipment when they want it and managing your workload accordingly Completing service report paperwork Inspecting, preparing and power washing hire equipment (its physical and outdoors) Loading/unloading equipment using forklift trucks Assisting our manufacturing team with fabrication, machining, paint spraying, shot blasting and using power tools as needed Occasional site visits or call-outs to troubleshoot or support clients Supporting clients over the phone with troubleshooting and advice Mentoring apprentices and sharing your knowledge What were looking for: Were after someone practical, hands-on and reliable , with a good sense of ownership and the ability to manage their own time . You must be able to work independently but also pitch in as part of our small, friendly manufacturing team. Essential: Positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic Previous engineering experience such as time-served apprenticeship/NVQ Level 3 or relevant experience Experience with industrial machinery or engines Electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience Physically fit theres lots of hands-on outdoor work Able to manage workload, prioritise, and problem solve under pressure Comfortable speaking with clients and representing the business A valid driving licence Preferred: Forklift Truck Driving experience What we offer: £40,000 base salary , plus: Generous company bonus scheme Time-and-a-half overtime pay Standard working hours: 8am5pm, MondayThursday (4.30pm on Fridays) Occasional flexibility required for out-of-hours support Christmas and New Year off Based at our Flixborough facility no shift work Free on-site parking Supportive, close-knit team youre not just a number.
