Diesel Mechanic

Key Responsibilities: Maintenance & Repair Perform regular servicing, preventative maintenance, and mechanical repairs on lodge vehicles, generators, and machinery. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues, replacing or repairing defective parts as needed. Diagnostics Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify engine malfunctions, system failures, and other technical issues. Engine & System Work Overhaul and rebuild engines, clutches, gearboxes, differentials, and drive trains. Service and repair suspension, brake (hydraulic & air), electrical, and hydraulic systems. Skills and Knowledge Requirements: Mechanical Knowledge: Strong understanding of diesel engines, fuel injection, combustion, and emissions control. Diagnostic Skills: Ability to use diagnostic tools to identify and isolate faults quickly and accurately. Electrical Skills: Knowledge of wiring, starters, alternators, and other electrical components. Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently. Safety Awareness: Strict adherence to safety regulations and best practices. Requirements: Trade-tested Diesel Mechanic (Red Seal advantageous). 35 years experience in a similar role, preferably in a lodge, safari, or agricultural environment. Experience with 4x4 safari vehicles (Land Cruiser/Land Rover preferred). Valid drivers license (PDP advantageous). Willingness to work in a remote lodge environment
