Job Title: Behaviour Mentor - Specialist SEMH Provision Location: Northumberland area Salary: £89-£103 per day (PAYE) Contract: Full-time, Long-Term Start Date: September 2025 Some students don't need more rules. They need the right relationships. We're looking for a confident, compassionate and calm Behaviour Mentor to join a specialist secondary provision that supports young people aged 11-16 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Every student has (or is being assessed for) an EHCP, and many are neurodivergent. This is a setting built for connection-not correction. With a small school feel and a high staff-to-student ratio, you'll be part of a team that helps students re-engage with learning, regulate their emotions and rebuild their confidence. Your day-to-day might include: 1:1 and small group mentoring focused on self-regulation, routine and resilience Supporting behaviour inside and outside the classroom with a calm, coaching approach Working alongside pastoral and therapeutic staff to keep young people safe, supported and heard Helping pupils build routines, relationships and personal goals Modelling consistent, respectful communication-especially when things get tough You'll be a great fit if you: Have experience in SEMH, youth work, alternative provision or therapeutic settings Bring a strong, steady presence to unpredictable days See beyond behaviour to the bigger picture Know how to build rapport, keep boundaries, and turn tough moments into teachable ones With Protocol Education, you get: Weekly pay (PAYE) between £89-£103 per day FREE CPD including trauma-informed practice, Team Teach and Thrive A consultant who gets this kind of setting Referral bonuses for great people you bring with you Thrive trained?
