Contracts Manager CAPE TOWN We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to lead and oversee construction and renovation projects within the commercial property sector. The ideal candidate will have a solid track record of managing contracts from pre-construction through to handover, ensuring quality delivery, compliance, and profitability. Projects include new builds, renovations, and alterations where we act as the main contractor . Key Responsibilities Manage full contract lifecycle on commercial property projects (buildings, renovations, alterations) Coordinate project planning, budgeting, procurement, and timelines Oversee site operations and liaise with project teams, subcontractors, and consultants Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and contractual requirements Monitor project performance and budgets to ensure profitability Handle contract negotiations, extensions, and variations Conduct site visits and ensure work is carried out to design and quality specifications Report on project progress to stakeholders and resolve site or contractual issues Maintain strong documentation and project recordkeeping Ensure all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standard Minimum Requirements Minimum 510 years of experience in Contracts Management within the construction sector Proven experience with commercial building projects as the main contractor Relevant qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or similar Strong knowledge of construction contracts (JBCC, FIDIC, NEC, etc.) Solid understanding of building regulations, health & safety standards, and quality control Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills Ability to manage multiple projects and teams concurrently Advantageous Professional registration (e.g., SACPCMP, CIOB) Experience with green building certifications or high-spec tenant installations Exposure to both private and public sector contracts
