Teacher of French and Spanish Leith Academy Salary: £33,594 - £50,589 Hours: 35 per week Leith Academy are looking to recruit a highly motivated dynamic inspirational French and Spanish teacher to play a key role in our diverse, innovative, creative and supportive Modern Languages Faculty. Using your skills and experience in teaching French and Spanish you will teach at a variety of levels, promoting cultural awareness and developing pupils' communication skills. French and Spanish are taught on a rolling programme, beginning in associated primaries, throughout the Broad General Education S1-S3, with NQs being followed in S4-S6. Our exciting Modern Languages faculty also offers Italian in the Senior Phase and Mandarin from S1 to S6 and has a wide range of extra-curricular activities such as local and international cultural trips with growing links with the community, universities and the world of work. Leith Academy is a diverse and comprehensive secondary school in Edinburgh, the school roll is currently around 1000 pupils. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory. Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
