Draughstperson

Job Purpose: To create models, arrangements and drawings, following the company's standards, using the relevant software tools (and PDA interface if required). Key Result Areas: Administration: Update the drawing register database according to company requirements. Operate and utilise the data management system according to company standards. Create and manage BOMs, work orders, and routings in JDE, updating them as required (if applicable). Compliance: Adhere to quality and safety standards, integrating them into designs.Comply with procedures, design specifications, and ISO standards. Customer Liaison/Team Support: Consult with colleagues or customers on design, layout, or detail components and systems to resolve design or other problems. Liaise with customer representatives to review schematics and answer questions related to system installations. Supervise initial installation of designs when required to ensure all customer and internal design requirements are met. Provide support to the team as required Generated Models and Drawings: Develop designs and drawings using CAD software and equipment. Use parametric designs where applicable. Check and store designs and drawings correctly in the company data management system. Utilise design checklists when creating and drawing. Compute mathematical formulae to develop and design detailed specifications. Review, analyse, and adhere to job specifications and related data. Takes action: Initiates action to correct quality problems or notifies others of quality issues as appropriate Minimum Experience: At least 3-4 years applicable technical experience in a relevant industry. Experience in the use of the relevant software used by the company would be advantageous. Drivers Licence is required and willing to travel outside SA borders if required Must have worked for manufacturing companies NOT Design houses or piping draughtperson. Candidates must have worked with the software Creo and AUTOCAD and have a background in design of injection moulding components is advantageous. Minimum Qualifications: Grade 12: Maths and Science. N4 draughting or similar. N4 Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous. Recognised training in relevant software Technical/Professional Knowledge and Skills: Computer knowledge: Displays advanced knowledge of 2D and 3D packages Product knowledge: Displays an understanding of the companys products in relation to job output Draughting knowledge: Displays an advanced understanding of parametrics, iParts; displays competent understanding of drawing standards
