The Client We are working exclusively with a well-established and growing UK-based manufacturer of bespoke cleaning and hygiene chemical products is seeking a talented Development & Regulatory Chemist Manager. The Role This is a hands-on role that blends practical laboratory work with regulatory leadership. You’ll be actively involved in the formulation and development of new products while also managing compliance and quality systems. Key responsibilities include: Leading technical regulatory affairs and ensuring compliance with UK and EU chemical regulations. Preparing and submitting documentation such as SDS, TDS, and registration dossiers. Monitoring regulatory changes and advising on their impact. Working directly in the lab to develop and test innovative surfactant-based formulations for I&I, medical, food, and personal care applications. Supporting customers with technical documentation, sampling, and product launch materials. Managing and maintaining ISO 9001 / 13485 certifications through internal audits and QMS oversight. Handling technical enquiries and managing the product portfolio lifecycle. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys being in the lab, solving real-world problems, and taking ownership of both product development and regulatory strategy. The Person This role suits a chemist who has already taken the next step in their career and wants to stay close to the science while gaining higher leadership experience. You will have: A degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline. At least 4 years of relevant industry experience. Has in depth experience of ISO 9001 / 13485 certifications Strong knowledge of formulation chemistry, raw materials, and regulatory compliance. Proficiency with tools such as Excel, ECHA, and ideally IUCLID, Sage, and CIM50. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with a passion for innovation and quality.
