Job Description

R&D Engineer, Kilmarnock Permanent, full time position Salary 35-50,000 We're working with a manufacturer who is looking for an experienced Engineer to join their design and development team. This is a varied role supporting the full product lifecycle in a mechanical, electrical and chemical engineering environment. You'll be involved in everything from early-stage concepts and calculations through to hands-on testing, design documentation, and production support. The work is project-based, so you'll need to juggle multiple tasks and collaborate with colleagues in R&D, manufacturing, and quality. Responsibilities: Creating design specs, drawings, models and test documentation Supporting product validation, risk analysis and technical reporting Liaising with production teams to ensure designs are ready for manufacture Maintaining design records, BOMs and data packs Contributing to root cause analysis and improvement plans Working with suppliers and third parties to support new product introduction Required skills: Degree in engineering or relevant hands-on experience Strong grasp of systems engineering and product development Experience with design tools and CAD/modelling software Confident with technical documentation and reports Comfortable working across disciplines and balancing project priorities Excellent company benefits and flexible working options available.
