Job Description

Role: R&D Manager - Intumescent Coatings Location: Northern England Based Salary: £80,000 Basic, annual bonus, pension, healthcare R&D Manager - Intumescent Coatings: My client is a leading global manufacturer of coatings and paints. A requirement has been made to recruit an R&D Manager for their Intumescent Coatings division. This is a senior role that oversees the largest R&D Department in the business across the EMEA region and sits as part of the senior R&D leadership team. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a large technical team across two countries. Drive R&D stage-gated projects focused on the development of intumescent paints and coatings. Collaborate with global teams across EMEA to drive innovation, new product launches and product performance. Ensure alignment of R&D activities with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and market trends. Oversee lab testing, formulation improvements, and product scaling. R&D Manager - Intumescent Coatings: Proven track record in R&D within the coatings or paints industry (intumescent product experience is a plus). Strong technical expertise in formulation, materials science, and fire protection technologies. Experience leading R&D teams or projects in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. Located in Northern England, although flexible working is a possibility with 3 days minimum in the office/lab.
