Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Operational Management: Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations across multiple production lines or plants. Ensure that production targets are met in terms of volume, cost, quality, and delivery timelines. Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programs for all plant equipment. Drive adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards across the facility. Strategic & Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize processes (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM). Identify and implement capital investment projects in machinery, infrastructure, and technology upgrades. Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure smooth end-to-end operations. Team Leadership & Talent Development: Build and lead a high-performing local team of Engineers, Supervisors, Operators, and technical staff. Drive knowledge transfer and up-skilling of local talent through structured training and mentorship. Promote a performance-driven culture with clear KPIs and accountability. Quality & Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements. Manage audits and certifications (ISO, HACCP, or industry-specific standards). Work closely with the Quality Assurance/Control teams to implement robust quality systems. Financial & Budgetary Oversight: Manage plant operational budgets and control costs effectively. Monitor key financial indicators and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety. Report regularly to HQ or regional leadership on performance metrics and operational risks. Qualifications & Experience (Essential): Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or a related field (Mechanical, Electrical, Food or Agri). Minimum of 10 years of experience in food processing or manufacturing and plant operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Proven experience managing production facilities in challenging environments or emerging markets. Experience in the DRC, or other Central/West African countries.
