We are collaborating with a special school located in Lewisham that serves children aged 5 to 18 with social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as Autism. The school provides a safe and nurturing learning environment. They are currently seeking an experienced and passionate teacher for their Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) class, which consists of 6 students in Years 1, 2, and 3. This group includes some students with Autism who are non-verbal. Main Duties: To plan lessons and teach a class of 6 students in years 1, 2& 3 with Autism and some who are non-verbal To be resilient, hard-working and have an understanding of mental health and teaching neurodiverse children Responsibility for tracking pupil progress and monitoring to support teaching and learning Deliver dynamic and creative lessons Built positive relationships with students, parents and carers Experience teaching children with Autism Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Unqualified and proven experience Excellent communication skills A strong sense of empathy, patience, and resilience, with the ability to remain calm and focused in challenging situations If you are interested in hearing more about this ASD Teacher role, please apply now!
