A well-established engineering company in Cumbria is looking for an experienced Functional Testing Engineer (FAT 3) to join their high-performing Test & Inspection team. Location: Kendal - Hybrid Salary: £50,000 per annum (DOE) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent About Us: This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a technically rewarding role at a company specialising in high-voltage protection and control systems for the energy sector. Functional Testing Engineer - What You'll Be Doing: - Conduct functional and operational testing of electrical protection systems and relays - Program and test Siemens, GE, Schneider, and Qualitrol relays - Use Omicron Test Kits and Test Universe software - Perform inspections on mechanical and electrical components during assembly - Create detailed test documentation and support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) - Liaise with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure high-quality output - Deputise for the Lead Test Engineer when required Functional Testing Engineer - What We're Looking For: - Hands-on experience with relay testing and functional inspection - Competency using Omicron equipment - Ability to read and work from schematic diagrams - Strong communication and documentation skills - IEC 61850 experience (desirable) Functional Testing Engineer - Why Join - £50,000 salary (depending on experience) - 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) - Half day on a Friday If you're ready for a new challenge in a critical testing role within a respected engineering company, we'd love to hear from you.
