Technical Architect

Technical Architect - Outside IR35 Contract - ASAP start - Must have SC Clearance - Hybrid working We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect to lead the design and transformation of Legacy technology platforms within a UVM (Unified Virtual Management) Infrastructure environment. This role focuses on modernising aging systems while ensuring the integrity and continuity of existing critical services. Key Responsibilities: Lead the technical architecture design for Legacy system integration and transformation. Develop modernisation strategies while supporting the continuity of existing UVM-based infrastructure. Conduct architecture assessments of Legacy platforms and recommend scalable, secure upgrades. Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, and security teams to ensure compliance and best practices. Provide technical leadership in projects involving UVM, hypervisors, and virtual infrastructure. Translate business requirements into architectural blueprints and solution designs. Ensure architecture aligns with enterprise standards , performance, and resilience goals. Support risk analysis, migration planning, and technical assurance for ongoing changes. Skills & Experience Required: Essential: Proven experience as a Technical Architect working on legacy systems modernisation . Strong understanding of UVM (Unified Virtual Management) or similar virtual infrastructure environments. Background in infrastructure architecture , systems integration, and virtualisation. Experience in mainframe Legacy platforms Familiarity with migration approaches , especially phased or hybrid transition models. Excellent stakeholder communication and technical documentation skills. Desirable: Experience with VMware , Hyper-V , or similar technologies. Knowledge of cloud integration (Azure, AWS) for hybrid legacy-modern environments. Exposure to ITIL , TOGAF , or other architectural frameworks. Previous experience in public sector, financial services, or regulated environments.
