Job Description
For Vernay, we are looking for a strong, people-oriented and results-driven Manager Operations to lead our manufacturing organization into its next phase of growth. You will play a key role in developing both people and processes, while driving a culture shift towards proactive ownership and continuous improvement. About the Role As Manager Operations, you are responsible for overall the effectiveness and performance of our operations. Your main objective is to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products at the lowest possible cost. You will lead a diverse team of approximately 150 employees, with 10 direct reports across key operational areas. Your scope includes: Production Maintenance & Technical Services Process / Manufacturing Engineering Internal Logistics (flow of materials between internal manufacturing processes) You are part of the local management team and work closely with departments such as Quality, Sales and New Product Development (NPD) to ensure operational excellence and successful product launches. Key Responsibilities Co-responsibility for the management and performance of the site in the Netherlands. Ensure all operational activities are carried out in a safe and environmentally responsible manner Build and execute a long-term vision for maintaining skills and knowledge within all levels of the operational team, ensuring employee satisfaction and low absenteeism. Lead by example inspiring and motivating (direct) reports to transition from an executing culture to a learning/performing culture. Cascade annual budget targets within the operational team. Define and execute plans to realize the agreed targets. Monitor, report and steer progress using relevant KPI’s to measure effectiveness and efficiency, such as OEE, OTIF, MTTR, MTBF etc Strong presence at the Gemba challenging the organization to continuously improve processes and reduce the 8 waists securing profitability and customer satisfaction. Implementing proper shopfloor management to boost performance providing clarity using visual aids and clear accountability. Interact with NPD and Sales in an early stage of APQP ensuring new product launches are meeting the requirements to guarantee success from SOP to EOP. BPS with other sites within the Vernay Group. Lessons learned from quality issues, enable to learn from mistakes made. Initiate and lead OPEX and CAPEX projects ensuring state of the art operational conditions. Your Profile Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or Business Administration Solid technical background, able to understand and detect potentials in manufacturing processes Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment with progressive responsibility Proven experience implementing lean manufacturing principles and shopfloor/performance management.
