Freelance Automation Engineer (ZZP) – Siemens TIA Portal – Food & Beverage Production – Friesland Location: Friesland, Netherlands Duration: 6 months (freelance ZZP contract) Sector: Food & Beverage / Industrial Automation Scope: Siemens PLC & HMI Development – Factory Automation We are seeking a freelance Automation Engineer (ZZP) with deep expertise in Siemens automation systems to support the controls modernization of a food & beverage production facility in Friesland . This project focuses on the upgrade and integration of Siemens-based automation solutions across multiple production lines. Your Role Design, develop, and implement control logic using Siemens TIA Portal (S7-1200/1500) Configure and deploy HMI interfaces using WinCC (Advanced/Professional) Upgrade legacy systems (S5/S7-300) to modern Siemens platforms Integrate new machinery with existing SCADA and PLC infrastructure Provide on-site support for testing, commissioning, and fault resolution Ensure systems meet food industry standards for safety, reliability, and traceability Your Profile 5 years of hands-on experience with Siemens PLC/HMI/SCADA systems Strong command of TIA Portal , Step 7 , and WinCC Familiar with industrial networks and protocols (Profinet, Profibus, OPC UA) Background in food, beverage, or FMCG environments preferred Able to work independently and drive projects through to completion Fluent in English or Dutch Registered ZZP’er with right to work in the Netherlands Available for regular site presence in Friesland Bonus Skills Experience with S7-Graph , Safety Integrated (S7-F) , or PCS 7 Familiarity with MES integration and traceability systems Understanding of hygienic automation design in food-grade environments Knowledge of SCADA platforms (e.g., WinCC Unified , Ignition , iFIX )
