HR Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW We are seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Manager to oversee all human resource functions at our mining operation in Limpopo. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing HR policies, procedures, and systems in support of operational goals, while ensuring compliance with labour legislation and best practice. This is a site-based role , reporting directly to the Project COO. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with overall business objectives. Manage the full HR function, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, labour relations, and employee engagement. Provide expert guidance and support to management and staff on HR matters. Ensure compliance with all relevant employment legislation and internal policies. Drive transformation and Employment Equity (EE) initiatives. Support and facilitate Human Resource Development (HRD) initiatives , including training and skills development. Handle conflict resolution, disciplinary procedures, and grievance management. Maintain accurate HR records, systems, and reporting. Foster a positive, inclusive, and productive workplace culture. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology, or related field. Minimum of 58 years HR generalist experience, with at least 23 years in a mining or industrial environment (preferred). Experience in Human Resource Development (HRD) will be an added advantage. Proven experience with HR compliance and labour legislation in South Africa. Knowledge of HR systems and databases (e.g., Sage, VIP, or similar platforms). Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. PREFERRED CANDIDATE PROFILE Proven ability to work in a remote, site-based environment. High level of emotional intelligence, integrity, and discretion. Proactive, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities.
