Trade Accountant

Financial Control: Recordkeeping and reconciliation of all trade-related transactions Monitoring cost of sales (COGS), including farmer payments, packaging, and logistics costs Managing inventory movement and valuation Preparing profit and loss statements by shipment, client, and product Procurement & Farmer Payments: Processing farmer contracts and invoices Monitoring delivery volumes, quality, and price adjustments Ensuring timely and accurate payments to suppliers Export & Logistics Accounting: Recordkeeping of export sales, foreign exchange variances, and shipping costs Reconciling farmer contracts with foreign exchange contracts (FECs) Reconciling export documentation with financial records Collaborating with logistics and operations teams for accurate financial processing Reporting & Analysis: Preparing monthly margin reports and variance analyses Supporting budget and forecast processes Preparing for audits and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements Systems & Process Improvement: Maintaining and optimising ERP systems Developing and documenting internal controls and procedures BCom in Accounting, Finance, or related field Minimum 35 years experience in finance/accounting, preferably in agriculture or exports Strong knowledge of cost and inventory accounting, as well as foreign currency transactions Advanced Excel skills Knowledge of export regulations is advantageous
