Qualifications Matric Safety Degree or Diploma Certificate in Surface Blasting Ticket (advantageous) Certificate in OHSAS Auditor Certification (advantageous) Requirements Minimum 10 years in opencast mining, with strong exposure to drilling and blasting operations In-depth knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act Proven experience in developing and managing SheQ systems Duties Ensuring compliance with legal standards, promoting a culture of safety, and driving continuous improvement in health, safety, environmental, and quality performance Lead the development and execution of SheQ strategies across all sites Ensure full compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act and other relevant legislation Conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations Develop and maintain ISO/OHSAS-compliant systems and certifications Provide training, mentorship, and support to site-based SheQ teams Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure timely reporting and documentation Promote a proactive safety culture and drive behavioural safety initiatives Monitor and report on SheQ performance metrics and KPIs Advise executive leadership on SheQ risks and opportunitie s
