The Role As a synchronisation engineer, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient setup, integration, and troubleshooting of generator synchronisation systems across various customer sites. You’ll support both pre-planned and reactive work, ensuring power continuity and customer satisfaction at every stage. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement synchronisation plans for multi-generator and grid-tied installations Execute synchronisation procedures and perform functional testing of control equipment Integrate generators into complex power systems, including load sharing and DNO grid connections Conduct site diagnostics and fault-finding on generator control systems and synchronisation faults Travel to customer sites using a company vehicle (door-to-door paid) Accurately document work, service reports, and maintenance records Collaborate with internal Coordinators for job planning and resource management Participate in the on-call rota (approximately 1 in 6 weeks, with standby pay) Adhere to all WBPS H&S, environmental, and quality policiesWhat We’re Looking For Qualified Electrical or Mechanical Engineer (Time-served or NVQ Level 3) Strong experience in generator systems or related electrical fields Familiarity with synchronisation of multi-generator systems Knowledge of generator control panels: COMAP, DEEP SEA, DEIF Proven diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Comfortable working on three-phase, split-phase, and single-phase systems Experience working with DNO providers and knowledge of grid tie-in processes A background in diesel and electric generator operation and integration Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with customers and colleagues Experience in a mobile engineering role is advantageousWhat We Offer £18.40 per hour (based on experience) Door-to-door pay Overtime after 40 hours On-call rota (approx. 1 in 6 weeks) with standby fee 33 days holiday, including bank holidays Ongoing technical training and upskilling Private healthcare Death in service benefit Company van and fuel card Long-term progression opportunities in a growing business Access to our employee assistance programmeJoin WB Power Services and become a key part of the team that keeps the UK powered and connected.
