POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the VP of Operations, the Senior Program Director develops and manages the day-to-day operation of a variety of programs; in the areas of Membership, Wellness, and Aquatics that are responsive to member and community needs and ensure premier program quality and innovation which positively impacts member engagement and retention. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Recommend, develop and implement mission focused programs which meet community needs in a fiscally responsible manner. 2. Develop program budgets, monitor financial performance, manage related expenses and revenue, perform cost benefit analysis and monitory member feedback and recommend changes as needed. 3. Recruit, train, supervise, evaluate and develop program staff members and volunteers to deliver quality programs and services. 4. Act as role model and create a culture that places a high level of importance on cultivating relationships with members in order to improve our ability to provide quality service and enhance member engagement and retention. 5. Communication to members updating on changes and additions to programs and activities. 6. Identify opportunities to work collaboratively with other local community groups and organizations to provide programs and services. 7. Identify new program opportunities and sources of funding for programs. 8. Plan and implement fundraising events. Participate in branch and association fundraising campaigns. 9. Consistently provide friendly, courteous assistance exceeding member expectations every day, which includes building and maintaining healthy professional relationships with members, staff, host agencies and the local community. 10. Support and contribute to a safe, clean environment for staff, members and program participants. 11. Attend meetings as assigned. 12. Maintain knowledge of association policies and procedures, risk management and safety practices and applicable laws. 13. Serve on branch and association committees and contribute to trainings and special events as required. 14. Perform other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree and five years in program development and implementation desired, will consider equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Demonstrated experience in developing budgets and monitoring financial projections. Must have computer skills, ability to use Excel, Word, Outlook and virtual conferencing technology. High level of analytical ability, to assess and manage financial results and program effectiveness. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. YMCA Team Leader preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight. Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency. Ability to use office equipment
